Les Sable d’Olonnes (5./6. July 2018)

Having the kids on board is sooooooo nice ( mummy is happy 🙂 )! We had a relaxing Friday with grocery shopping at a beautiful (beautiful because of the food 😉 ) market and strolling around Les Sables. And of course slowly preparing for the next game!

What a success :-), the French team won and Les Sables was going mad about celebrating the achievement of the semifinal. Having Benoit (he’s French) with us, we kind of felt French ourselves and were really enjoying the crazy celebration.

After watching also the second quarter final (Brasil/Belgium) we desperately needed some food, so we had a nice dinner in an Italian (as they aren’t playing in the championship 😉 )  restaurant. With our bellies stuffed and still happy about the success, we had a great night of sleep. The next morning we left Les Sables to sail to Ile de Ré, which is again a bit further south. Karl-Otto – our lure – kept us busy on this trip but unfortunately not very successful. Three times we only caught sea grass and then, the excitement was big , we actually caught a fish, an eel, but just before we almost got him in, he freed himself L. Well, that’s fishing life, so dinner without fish. 😉
