Some pics of our hikes. First to the south end of Carriacou and the other hike leaded us more to the centre of the island
some trails could also be in Europe, especially when the birds are singing and the trees just look like ours back in Germany and again sheep… is this model supposed to be a scarecrow? our hiking group, still at the beginning, everybody is eager to walk the interesting tree cover plant it did look kinda spooky I just can’t get enough of it a stop at the south east side the only horse I’ve seen so far the view to the north east side I think, in the back ground one can see “Frigate Island” looking south in the back, one can get a glimpse of Grenada “White Island” in the back ground El Capitano is sneaking through the cacti now on the other side, the south west end and back to Tyrell bay we went a week later on our way up to the centre of the island a great view of Tyrell bay a beautiful view over the mangrove-hurricane-escape area; is it really that protected? a first stop to enjoy the view at a hill, which was used in the earlier days as a graveyard; not absolutely sure but I guess it was called “Chapeau Carre” from up here we could see the south east and west side she must have been a very beloved mom and friend, it must have been quite a challenge to get her up here as the path was very narrow and quite steep the week before we had been at the last end of the island which one can see in the back ground John and Louise, she is organising the hikes this, I guess, is by far the biggest junction, 6 streets joining, 1,2,3, 4, 5, 6 roads a lot of roots
And some last random pics…
James high up in our mast; he was so kind to climb up as we both still freak out if we have to go up there. Our anemometer was broken and we tried to repair it, which -knock on wood- so far worked the space cake seduction with not much outcome for us a sunrise for a change coast guard checked on us; fortunately all our papers were correct this big fellow was huge, a land-crab crawling on the street after weeks we could finish our sign at the “sip and paint” day at Paradise Beach bar; it got a bit dirty… other people are cheating 😉, they used a pen for drawing – muuuuuuch easier! instead of painting El Capitano rather enjoyed the view with a cold beer at the beach we found a different way back to Tyrell bay from Paradise beach L’Esterre Bay/ Paradise Beach our sign fixed to the new bar isn’t she beautiful 😁 my handicraft morning, taping the newspaper sheets together for making the dinghy pattern and in the end I only made the small sitting area covers Our last Sunday with Marieke and Ron, we were invited at Dianas and Richards place to play “Mölkky”; a fun Scandinavian game I did not take much pics, so it’s a bit difficult to imagine and explain;, but I can assure it’s a fun throwing game suitable for players of all ages and numbers. Our hosts expected more players to come but with only the 6 of us we still had much fun playing it. also nice is, that everyone brings some food and drinks to share our local neighbour, a very gifted sailor; he had no engine in his boat therefore always sailed in and out of the anchorage; we were very impressed our last day at Frogs for some time, bye bye Carriacou
