A few pics of the passage La Palma to La Graciosa
after about 14 hours of sailing, a couple of miles north east of La Palma we could escape from some showers passing the north western tip of Teneriffe, watching the sun rising is always amazing a big ship passing in front of us looks on the chart like this (we are the red boat and the triangle is the big vessel)… and in reality like this sunrise the next morning me being a gimbal table arriving at the anchorage Playa Francesa “Nina”, the catamaran of the German couple Franz and Angela a French boat leaving the bay Graham, Björn and Norbert on “Nina”
Just beautiful La Graciosa
NOT beautiful! me being a mess with a scraggy look just after waking up but enjoying the morning view that is a sad story. only a few weeks ago this catamaran run on to the reef and got completely damaged. a horror imagination for every sailor some of the typical whitewashed northern African-type houses… with sandy tracks instead of tarmac roads in the only village Caleta del Sabo just in case somebody needs a taxi ride to one of the beaches, with a bit of luck Norberto will be your driver 😁 beach everywhere as well as cool sunglasses the dried tidal basin at Bahía del Salado a great view to the northern part of Lanzarote the sky is just beautiful the south west tip of La Graciosa, the lovely beach of Playa La Cocina another sunset or the view out of our head the beach at the village we went up the hill of Montaña Amarilla with Franz and Angela and had a great view of the Francesa bay at the top of the mountain ,having a short break to enjoy the view the north eastern part of the island walking down the pebbly path looking west if I remember right
Our sportive neighbours and another walk around the island
“El Gaucho” is the catamaran of a very nice couple from Belgium but I took the picture to catch Jonas on his kite he and his girlfriend Leonie had a lot of fun when we had calima weather with… quite some waves in the bay and only… poor visibility this is their boat” Jollity”, in front Jonas with his kite a typical bird of the canaries we walked to the north west side of the island to the beach with no name (I couldn’t find one)… the flora is not very lush… yet it is a very amazing landscape strange, hairy plant the stony west side a garden? interesting grain of the different layers of the volcanic crater the very northern tip of Lanzarote and back at the pretty south side with… a lot of sand crazy, fantastic colours
