only a few miles past Carricou passing Union Island, Chatham bayWe had perfect sailing conditions and I felt in the mood to do some exercise- only for the pic of coursejust passing the most western tip of Bequia, only a few more tacks to goa pretty local boat, while waiting for our results to come back – watching it was a nice distractionthe northern part of Admirality bay, Bequiathe south east of the baysunset in Bequiafirst steps ashore, if we would have known that it was only for one afternoon we probably would have stayed ashore much longerthe pretty side walk looking north, in the far back to the left was the quarantine areaGingerbread bar, unfortunately still closed evening impressions of the bayour first beer ashore
Bequia at it’s best, a walk around Admirality bay
more of the side walkit was so prettyusually every year in October there is a regatta of model sailing boats in Bequia and the other SVG islands, due to Corona it was cancelled; the locals still did some trainingAltimate in the quarantine areaoutboard engine parking?shower with letter box😉we thought , we wouldn’t mind having such a sexy seating on Altimatemore sidewalk…and some health information
A walk up to Fort Hamilton
the fort gave us a nice view over the baythere was not much left of the fort …some historic information El Capitano resting in the shade; some locals used the fort to built in a new speaker system in there bus and to test its performance; later back on altimate we heard them testing – they worked welllife lobster cage at the “Open Deck” restaurantblurry coffee in town opposite of the ferry terminalanother stop to get some refreshments
Excursion to the other side of Bequia to Friendship bay (isn’t that a sweet name?)
We took a bus and asked the driver let us out where we can start a nice walk. He left us in the middle of a street at some stairs. It took us to the nice beach of Friendship Bay. We walked through the parish of Friendship all the way back to Admirality Bay
at first we didn’t even see the stairsbut here they were taking us to the beachfurther up we were just walking between fences and walls, but then it looked like thisand finally we reached the beachcool El Capitano cooling down in the shades of a treewe passed some fancy looking resortsNorbert admiring a local sailng boatthe far east end of the bay was not quite as prettythat was the first plastic garbage container I saw since we left the Canary islands, WOW!walking through Friendshipthey even had proper bus stopsand back on the other side, the view of Admirality bayLower Bayanother small path down to Princess Margerete Beachyou keep walking and suddenly…baaaam, another beautiful beach
Another trip with the bus (the only line on the island). This time we went to the very end and got off at the airport. Not the prettiest walk we had but still very interesting.
waiting at the bus stop in Port Elizabethoff the bus, behind the airport, a playground in the middle of nowherethe cows do have a nice life in SVGwe kept walking to see where we would end upi’m not sure anymore ,but I think that was Mayreau in the backgroundsuddenly the path ended and this resort turned upI quite liked the spiritit looked kind of new, though at the same time abandonedthat was probably the receptionthe palm tree looked nicealready back at the airport of Bequiaa football pitch including floodlight next to the airport? we thought that was rather useless, but what do we know?I just liked the conch decorated wallwaiting for the bus to take us back to Port Elizabethour last day in Bequia we went to Lower Bay with the dinghy to pick up our filled gas bottle in a little restaurant; I thought it was this bar- it wasn’t but still a nice looking housethen we treated us with a yammi lunch and a beautiful view at Jack’s
