early in the morning at Snug Harbour just before we fled from the mean bugsjust a beauty backpacker sailing boat which we kept seeing sailing up and down the Colombian/Panama coastsome rain far enough from us just before anchoring at Isla Pinoafter a squall at Isla Pinossome Kunas brought us crab – lunch for the next day was decidedAltimate behind the palm leaves a little stroll along the island here we had our mini potluck with the German couple who were anchored next to us Gitti and Jo on “Kiss me”this was the creature which made me scream – sorry it was dark so not a great pic
Sapzurro
Sapzurro always pretty even when overcastedI liked that they were able to give old bottles a new purposeAltimate almost alone , the two other boats belonged to locals and were hardly used- nice was the fact that the wrecks had disappeared since we left last timethe lovely bay of Sapzurrowhat was El Capitano looking at?we noticed some new accommodations, some still under construction but also using old bottlesthe piece in the water was a remaining of the boat which had just sunk when we had arrived the first timewe even saw some ducks, I could not recall seeing them beforethe view from Lina’s place – we had dinner there one dayone day this cruising ship anchored at Sapzurro – we were strolling to the south east end of the bayat the furthest point they had built a cute resort with triangle roof hutsI peeped inside of a bathroom hut- it looks bigger in the pic than it actually was the sleeping huta terraceand the beach and eating area – I guessI saw a monkey – but can’t find him anymorethe weather was not that pretty but Sapzurro still looked magical- in a different way though

El desfile – the parade
it was slowly getting crowded – here some vip seats – well at least one needed to get some tickets the cheap areas along side the wallhere we were on top of the wall waiting – it was sooooo hotnext to “espuma” (foam) and beverages some guys also sold fried plantains more and more people were approaching to see the paradeas it was so hot on top of the wall we had moved a bit and had finally found a great place we were right next to the street were the parade passed bysometimes the costumes were really funnyNorbert had his first espuma attackhere we had some fire guys or whatever they representedthe funny ladies who taught me to espumasome marines were always on the carts with the beauty queens – they were always stone faced – not in party mood it seemedshe was the Bolivar queen, the state of Cartagena aqua man – he was big!and the espuma couple espuma snow
More partyyyyy
Ok, sometimes we just strolled through the city without partying.
the cool district of Getsemanilooking to the bay from the wallThe Square San Pedro Claver includes the church of the same name. What stands out in this location is the statue crafted by artist Enrique Grau, portraying San Pedro Claver the Jesuit missionary known as the ‘slave of the slaves’, which contrasts with the avant-garde pieces created from scrap metal by Edgardo: (the words from the sign)San Pedro Claver the Jesuit missionary El Capitano ain’t he cute? sitting all alone on that big benchone of the pretty streets in the old citythe stage ready to let the music outI always wanted a x-mas coffeethat was how the bay usually looked likefor the music event it looked like that absolutely packed boats everywheresome boats were bigger some smaller but on all of them partyyyyyybooty dance and selfie timethe stage
