Last impressions of Cuba

A few pics of Cabo San Antonio

the dock of Marina “Los Morros” in front the fisher boat which needed our water hose
a very remote place
the boat filled up with water and the crew happy about the lobster/tequila trade they were ready to leave again
the marina buildings
Altimate all alone at the only dock
in the middle of the mangrove area, perfectly protected from all directions
a heron couple passing by

Cienfuegos mostly downtown

the colour red is great ain’t it?
Avenida La mar, on the left Piña Colada bar
I think that was the customs building
one of the pedestrian street
this guy was seen everywhere
Benny Moré known as “The Barbarian of the Rhythm”, was one of the brightest stars of popular music in Cuba. If anybody is interested in his music, it can be found on YouTube
this crazy guy was hunting so close to Altimate that each time he was diving for fish he made us jump, it was hilarious, unfortunately I never caught him in action
crazy weather the early signs of hurricane season
The bar Piña Colada
yammi mango saison!!!!
a pretty picture of the famous Tomas Terry theatre

I made friends with this young girl and her family one afternoon while listening to music

Girly day out with Marilu

We met at Marilu’s place, had a coffee and then walked through the city. This time there was THE boutique open with local designer clothing including even a catwalk…

one of Marilu’s cats who just got a baby a couple of weeks ago
so cute!
Marilu’s kitchen/dining room
I loved this water dispenser
her cooking area
the other side of her kitchen, very open and green
in the back of the shop there was this cafe area
the catwalk inside the shop
more clothes- not sure though if I like them
not very talented – I agree, you may lough as well🙈
that day was the first and only time I had seen the traffic lights working
when we arrived in January eggs had cost 3400 what a great decrease for the people
by chance we went into “Taller de los Artistas”, a cultural centre dedicated to visual arts
Vladimir one of the artists happened to be there and happily showed us his art and his kittens
if I recall right, that painting described the past, the present and the future
can’t remember what that was supposed to tell us
that wall was just newly painted and was opposite of the Aritstas building

Last Couple of days in Cuba

huts getting ready the beverages and food for a marathon
a last evening at Piña Colada, here Jim was singing with Aivis and Yunier, bass guitarists
last time on the market fancy a pig head?
our last day with Yoana
our last evening at the bar Los Balcones
the inside was basic but nice
the tattoo man does, like Jim, not belong to the band but he was a very good harmonica player and that night he did dare to join; Della told me he is very shy

Our very last day in Cienfuegos

we had a last stroll before checking out and past by Cubanisimo, kids were performing some music and dance
a new little street bar had opened
and the funny toury train was running
