the Main Street of Rocklandlike everywhere at the east coast Rockland had as well big housesthe memorial honored the 33 souls who lost their lives aboard the ship “El Faro”Rockland Harbora part of Rockland Harbor trail close to Sandy Beachthe trail and the restaurant “Archer’s on the Pier”harbours viewhere we were in our 45 min walk to get to Walmart grocerywe passed that strange graveyard, it was a long stipe of green and in the very back we saw some tombstones, the only highlight of that walkAmerica is just not made for pedestrians, no sidewalks if you walk a few meters off the centre of the town, Rockland also didn’t have any public transport the farmers market, nice but not very useful for us honey, bread, foodonly a couple of huts provided veggies👍a clapboard house many beautiful old sailing boats were docked at the harbora friendship sloop in action- such amazing boatsthe lighthouse at the breakwater filling up dieseltwin treesthe coastal children museums backsidepush! harder!!!!try potthe pretty grain towersSandy Beacha regatta took place at the weekend, the boats had to turn almost inside the harbor, a great spot to watch them, but a challenge for the crewmore of the beautiesin the water those buoys don’t seems big!!!in the back the Knox County Courthouse – I thinka kind of marquetry made out of tile pieces and shaped into cakes – I guess that was art?boring just another houseand another pretty clapboard house we walked all the 5 miles of the harbour trail, here we were just behind Lermond Cove where the ferries arrive sometimes the trail was just along the streetwe passed the poor people areas of Rocklandlooking from the northside of the baythe end of the trail was at the lighthouse at the end of the breakwateronly 0.8 miles left to reach the lighthousewe made it!the lighthouse looked a bit tattered – fortunately El Capitano looked good🤣Rockland Harbour hotel- where our friends stayeda cute and delicious ice cream hut
