Gloucester still belongs to Massachusetts. We wanted to stop here only for a night but due to uncomfortable weather conditions we stayed 3 nights. There we had seen for the first time the beautiful old Schooner sailing boats. (The one from the feature pic was taken in Vinalhaven/Maine.) The weather seemed beautiful on the pics but it was foggy and only in the afternoons the sun found its way through the mist.
Isles of Shoals, Smuttynose Island where we had only an overnight stop
the light house of White Islandthe anchorage at Gosport HarborOceanic Hotel
Snow Island (4.7.2024 – 7.7.2024)
We spend three days in that beautiful anchorage. Just a pity that the fog was more present than the sun. At least one day we could go ashore at one island. It was our first little stroll ashore since we left Boston after 6 days!!! We walked 0,6km💪!!!
one of the many islets while heading to the Isles of Shoalsslowly approaching the anchorage and passing a few low budget housesa fisher hutand just like that the fog came, fortunately after we had dropped the hookif you like fog go to Maineyeah!!!! that was the islet where we could beach the dinghy and were allowed to trespassit was nice to wander through that mini forest stretching legsEl Capitano in the woodsrafting up in Maine Orrs Cove, we had asked locals where to get rid of some garbage, they send us down that inlet to a small marinaso pretty when the sun was outthe tide was about three metersflat like a mirror El Capitano heading to the other boat returning a guide book which the couple kindly lend usheading out of Snow Island
Peabow Island
We spent only a night here but it was a very cute place as we were surrounded by seals! So very nice!!!
a pretty little sailboat on our way to Peabow one island of Fox Islands Thouroughfare one of those annoying crab pots – at least in the right colours the many seals at Peabow hard to see on pics the sunbathing sealsthere were soooo many sealsthis seal was taking advantage of the fishermen taking in a net -easy bites were always welcome
Tenants Harbour (8.7.2024 -12.7.2024)
When we left Peabow Island the sun was shining at its best and we were looking forward to a nice sailing day. Wishful thinking- after about 3 hours a wall of fog appeared out of the blue sky. Just like that! It stayed until we reached Tenant harbour. Fortunately the fog was not too dense that we managed to anchor without any problems. Later in the afternoon the sun made it back and we jumped in our dinghy and went ashore. We loved to stretch our legs and explore the tiny fishing village. We found the general store, which was grocery store, souvenir shop, food corner, gas station and probably much more all in one. Just like in the good old times… When going back a couple of hours later the fog had taken over again. It was a bit scary heading back the 1nm in our dinghy in fog. And a challenge to find Altimate!!!
that was how the weather looked like in the morning when we left Peabowand bam a few ours later that shitty fog wall let us get used to work with our radar system while anchoring the fog was a little less densethat was just two hours laterthe view south from the public dock of Tenants HarborTenants Harbor public dinghy dockthe baywe happened to run into this half German restaurant, it was the only one open- anyone want to learn some German?😁 Maine lobster – at first I thought it was not a real one, it did look a bit weird to mesorry – but I could not get the big deal of a Maine lobster, it was boiled and served with melted butter in a plastic cup… a little more finesse and style would have been nice; still after more than a week aboard it was nice to be in a restaurant oops the fog started to come backso we needed urgently to get back to the dinghy dock
Tenants Harbour the other days

Inner Seal Bay in Vinalhaven (12.7.2024 – 16.7.2024)
That was the most beautiful place we had been so far. A secluded protected bay surrounded by forest which let us feel being anchored in a mountain lake.
