just before turning into Taylor creek where we anchored the wild horses of Carrot island were greeting usTaylor Creek and Front Street Beaufortour anchorage in Beaufortnext to the round roof was the free public dinghy dock, so very convenient ; Altimate is “on top ” of the three people in the back of the pic; so the commute to town was about a minutesomewhere along Front street it was so nice being strolling along the pretty waterfronteverywhere flowershuge housesmany private docks the northwest end of Front streetjust a pretty small garden in between houseshere we had our first beer and some tacos from the truck
Second day exploring more of the town
morning impressions of the creekit was so calm and peacefulwe walked to the farmers market and passed this mazethe famers market turned out to be more of a homemade art market, but we found at least one booth with veggies and fruitswe kept walking to a grocery store and passed pretty greens – I was so excited about all the green and flowershere we walked through a residential areasome guys presented proud their old-timer

Unfortunately I can’t recall all the names of the bones…
that was super interesting , the whales can hear through their jawbonehere El Capitano could here the sound being amplified through the shape of the bone- (not sure if I described that correctly)can’t remember 🙈These are the bones of “Pitfall”, a 37′ humpback whale that was struck by a ship and died when she was three years old.Her carcass came ashore in Duxbury Beach,Ma October 2001.
